On Dec. 21, the European Commission tightened controls on the inflow of cash and precious metals from outside of the EU. Describing its decision as a move to crackdown on terrorist financing, the Commission granted permission to border patrols to seize cash or gold brought in by suspects. Customs officials in EU states, as well as border controls, can seize and restrict the inflow of cash and precious metals without particular guidelines as to whom is suspected of terrorist financing or funding of militant attacks. Such ambiguity in the new proposals could potentially lead to the false confiscation of funds carried in by civilians coming into the EU. Individuals holding over $10,400 in cash must declare at EU state customs before entering a member state. If they fail to do so, individuals could be scrutinized by the newly proposed regulations. The EU executive Commission also stated in a note obtained by Reuters that authorities will be able to seize money below $10,400 upon their independent investigations and considerations. Potential regulations on other money transmission methods To date, cash and precious metals are the only two stores of value that the European Commission plans on regulating. The inflow of cash and …

One of the largest Bitcoin miners in China has suggested that the price of Bitcoin could reach $10,000 or even as high as $1 mln. Speaking to ether.camp at the Clare Hall of the University of Cambridge, on the sideline of the Internet-of-Value: Digitising Social Conscience – roundtable debate, Chandler Guo emphasised that all an individual needs to do is invest in just one Bitcoin – as most people don’t invest in it and yet they want to know more about proof of work, how the Blockchain works, why do blocks require 10 minutes, etc. Guo says in the Youtube video: “But finally, I tell them, just go back and buy Bitcoin. A lot of people don’t have Bitcoin…Not too much. Only one is enough. If everyone would have just one, the Bitcoin value would go to $1 mln. When Bitcoin becomes $1 mln, the whole world would be crazy and everyone would love to follow and all the other digital currencies would just be the grandson of Bitcoin.” Everyone just needs to buy one Bitcoin The angel investor in Bitcoin and Ethereum startups believes that a lot of people don’t exactly understand why they should be involved with Bitcoin, …

Roger Ver: If IRS is Trying to Tax Bitcoin, That Seems Like Acceptance

In a reaction to the U.S. government’s renewed commitment to tax Bitcoin transactions, the owner of Bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, says that while he’s not a fan of taxes and the IRS, he thinks it is a strong sign Bitcoin has come to stay, and governments are coming to terms with that. Mainstream adoption While the crypto entrepreneur doesn’t agree that taxing is good for the community, he affirms that it is an indication of mainstream adoption. He explains: “It is a sign of progress towards mainstream adoption, and with that adoption, Bitcoin will bring many positive changes to the world.” Whether taxing Bitcoin transactions is feasible, is another issue that immediately comes to mind when looking at the nature of the virtual currency and its anonymity. When Cointelegraph asked Roger if cryptocurrencies could be taxed accurately, he had this to say: “I think cryptocurrencies will bring a whole new meaning to the term “voluntary compliance.” No amount of threats of violence from the IRS can solve a math problem.” Tax is theft Roger holds the conviction that tax is theft and is paternalistic in its nature. He quotes Lysander Spooner: “If taxation without consent is not robbery, then any band …

Like Gold, Bitcoin is Becoming the Ultimate Safe Haven Investment

The relative stability of Bitcoin during periods of geopolitical uncertainties has allowed the digital currency to be considered by investors as a safe haven for the preservation of their wealth. Two major events in 2016 that quickly come to mind when considering the geopolitical risks borne by holders of fiat currencies, stocks, commodities and other financial elements are Brexitand the US elections. The fallout from these events saw the nations’ currencies and stocks plummet within very short periods of time. Safety first One of the most critical factors that investors consider is the safety of their investment. During periods of anticipated volatility, holders of local investments usually seek a safe haven for their wealth and value preservation. Recent events have shown that, like gold, Bitcoin is gradually assuming the role of a run-to hideout for value preservation. Michael Vogel, CEO of Netcoins, says: “In some circles Bitcoin is still considered a high-risk investment vehicle, while others consider Bitcoin to be the ultimate safe haven investment.” Digital currencies like Bitcoin were built from the ground up and designed for the era of information. Bitcoin allows value to be transacted directly, peer to peer, without an intermediary, hence it is not bound …

The Trump Train Goes to Washington; Three Ways Trump Helps Bitcoin

As I went over in an Op-Ed on Sunday, Hillary Clinton could not be allowed to become President of the United States. Call me crazy, but the world does not need openly corrupt, lying, World War 3-threatening politicians controlling Washington. Donald Trump wanted to “drain the swamp” and he is a man who gets things done, starting at the head of state. He’s already done more in one night than President Obama has done in eight years. Thank you America, for joining me and the rest of the liberty movement on the right side of history. Ok, enough about me being so right all the time…..what does this mean for Bitcoin? I’m going to give you three fast ways Trump helps Bitcoin and provides Bitcoin a much better future than the corrupt alternative. Bitcoin price should go up even faster for the rest of the year Bitcoin has proven to be just like Donald John Trump, a winner, from jump street, and 2016 has been no different. Bitcoin was up by over 60 percent this year going into election night, and these results will only build upon that growth throughout the coming weeks and months ahead. Bitcoin has proven to …

How Hillary Clinton Seeks to End The Internet, Bitcoin and The Free World (Op-Ed)

admin Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Politics, USA 0 Comments

It is 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday  morning, less than hours before a new global ruler is chosen. It took me over 40 years to figure out that I am good for only six hours of sleep a night, not the recommended eight. I was going to get up now anyway, but the new stream of consciousness for my feelings on the future of this planet awakens me this morning. Am I doing all that I can to change what may prove to be fait accompli? Have I done enough to sooth my soul, when it’s all said and done? Did I take enough of a stand? Is voting alone enough? This time, no, it is not. The situation is that serious. This article will take hours to write, but it matter not. I am obligated by divine purpose to send this message. If one person hears it and is profoundly affected, I have done my job. This is all that matters to me. Bringing a year’s worth of spin, bluster, promises and deception into one almost-but-not-really-digestible capsule for the Bitcoin community’s consumption. So let us begin. Hillary Rodham Clinton is clearly, easily, the most corrupt and criminal candidate to ever …
